I'm sorry. The Chair recognizes Councilman Kenney.
Just before we vote on this quickly, I intend to vote on this bill, but I want to thank the SRC for their Saturday notice of the Sunday meeting with one of the finalists and the Monday meeting of one of the finalists that I didn't see until Monday. So any indication that they're looking for our support and help and guidance is lost in that translation of a City Council e-mail to me on a Saturday for a Sunday. 6/28/12 - STATED - 2ND READING I will vote for this, but just to take note of it. Thank you, Mr. President.
Thank you, Councilman. Councilman, I understand your concern and, again, for the record, I know I've referenced it early, we have gotten a commitment from the Administration and members of the School District as it relates to us providing this revenue, although it wasn't the 94, but it was a difficult ask because it did increase individuals' taxes again. We want to make sure that that accountability measure that we've requested is intact, and I've gotten a commitment from the Administration that they will work with us prior to the authorization of the grant from the Finance Department that we will have substantive conversation and we will formulate accountability measures as it relates to the passage of that grant. Yes, sir. 6/28/12 - STATED - 2ND READING
Mr. President, I have every confidence in you. It's the people over on Broad Street that I have some issues with.
I understand. Thank you for your confidence. I will make sure it is well founded. Mr. Decker. Hold on. The Chair recognizes Councilman O'Brien.
Thank you, Mr. President, and I thank you for your due diligence in this. I echo Councilman Kenney's sentiments in the drive-by process of approving probably the most important appointment in our future and the future of our children as it relates to the education. I do not hold those candidates responsible, but I do consider the process very flawed.
Thank you, Councilman. 6/28/12 - STATED - 2ND READING The Chair recognizes Councilman Jones.
I'm going to show restraint right now. I'm going to show restraint and say -- I'm going to pass and let's vote this out, because enough of this. All right?
Thank you, Mr. Majority Leader. Mr. Decker, continue the count.
