So you're just
putting it down a regular drain inside the
property? No, there's a solution with
it that
when it goes down the drain,
it goes through this
solution and it goes through
the pipes before it hits the
drain. Like it flushes
and then what do you need to do any updates to the property or have you done any updates to the
property as it relates to ventilation uh they already have ventilation in there all i did was
it already had ventilation in there all i did was uh add um i made it a little bit uh bigger
uh add um i made it
with a ventilation it was like a i think it was a 18 inch fan exhaust fan and i made it to a 22 inch
okay but no major systems no no major systems at all uh the only other difference was the electric
I had to put a brand-new panel on the electric.
And did you pull permits with L&I?
Did that work?
I have a question.
So when customers, they come into your building to place orders, is there any kind of – there was a concern that maybe parking on the sidewalk.
is there adequate parking you think around your area so that if customers had to come in
to place orders that they wouldn't have to park on the sidewalk yeah yeah there's this parking
there's plenty of parking it says uh sometimes i have uh customers come and they'll like pick up
and there'll be a like a bunch of boxes so they have reversing to put it in the back of the van
and stuff like that but besides that it's not like a constant where they always park on the sidewalk
other questions yes sir what is your plan for removing um motor oil and transmission fluids
from the site excuse me i'm sorry i didn't get that plans to change my motor oil yes the waste
as far as uh the only thing that takes the oil is it's a compressor like and it's something small
I could put it in a little
like a gallon bucket
it's not
like I don't work on the cars or anything
in the garage
so I guess
I guess I got
a couple of questions
you okay
going to
go through how I think this works
and you can tell me if i'm correct okay sure sure so how do you get the t-shirts that you're going
to imprint um to this premises are they delivered in trucks vans how how does that how does that
okay yes so when when when um it's trying to do it when i take an order sometimes i purchase the
shirts for them or they bring the shirts themselves and I print on them or I give them my
idea and you know whether they like it or not you know I print it or not okay so you have
deliveries of through UPS like yes through I'm sorry this is like more bulk delivery correct
of the t-shirts? Yes. For most part, yes. I say about 80%. About 80%. Sometimes I do retail.
I get a little bit of both, but more of a contracting. Okay. And then if you're doing
these kind of bulk things this is uh you do the imprinting and what have you you then box this all
up and then this has to be delivered to somebody or do they come to pick it up or how does this
work yes the once this once the product is finished there i'll call they'll come some
customers that come pick up or they're uh or i send it through ups okay mostly it'll be customers
coming to pick up all right and so then most of the the t-shirts are inside your building um until
such time as the the work is done and you're shipping it out to wherever correct yes yes yes
Once I finish the work, it'll give them about 24 to 48 hours.
They'll be there. I'm very local.
Most of your orders, they're online? They're in person?
How do we do this? I don't see that there's a sign of any sort.
No, there's no signages yet.
People just
go on my social media, word of mouth.
so i'm working on that part as well okay all right and about how how large is this
it's it's um it's not very big it's just like i'm gonna say about almost 800 square footage
and the actual um
and the actual
you have one of these machines to do the
screening or do you have multiple? Yes, it's only one machine
one machine. How many people do you have working with you?
It's just me, like I said, it's very small, it's not a huge
Okay, so how many of these would you say you produce
in a week, shall we say? Far as printing t-shirts
um i'd say about five to eight hundred
depending on the the you know depending on the client
what type of work for schools or events and you say you've been doing this since 2018
on my own yes 28 2016 on my own i've been working for other companies
right but i thought you said that you moved into this property yes to 2018 i moved in this property
all right okay thank you okay uh sorry mr felu i have a couple follow-up questions
so you moved in in 2018 and it's looking like this has been a use issue since and i'm just
what when was were you made aware that the business was now in violation
and what has taken so long to address it okay so yeah there was uh i didn't know any better when i
actually moved into this building and um the landlord had i asked him about the um there was
a piece of paper that said a non-profit art school and i told him that uh i asked him is this is good
for my for my business as well as i do artwork as well and um he told me that i was fine with it
until i think it was like two years a year and a half ago and i it i was i guess i didn't know
any better on that part and that's when i had a license inspection guy come out and say no you
have to actually read
to have it under
my name and different
title.
That was the reason why
it took that long.
It looks like there's a number, and I don't
know if it's for your space specifically or the whole
building, but it looks like there's been a number
of fire code violations that
go back a few years.
I was wondering, have you
had to take steps, or is the landlord
taking steps to address it?
Yes, the land that that was the building that that on the basement. So when the license inspections came out downstairs in the basement, they had like old panels. I guess that was there before the new breakers they had put up and they didn't secure it right.
that was just like wires almost everywhere in the basement.
And since then, they had dressed up the coat with fire alarms and stuff like that.
And can you explain, like, who did the electrical work for you?
It was, his name was Lee, his business is Lime Electrician, but his name is Lee Lawarski.
and you and you're under the belief that he pulled a permit to do that work for for for my
for my unit but he i think pro managed that's the people that i rent from they uh handled
what they had to handle for their their building got it so i just want to let you know that there's
no electrical permit on record with the city that shows that this work was permitted and
done by a licensed electrician and i just want to make you aware like the the thing that we're
looking at today is both the approval for you to be able to use the space in the way that you've
been using it we understand that since 2018 but it would would require you to get a certificate
of occupancy for you to be able to continue to operate which means you have a certificate of
occupancy yes you can't you can't yeah that's you have you need approval from us to get the
certificate of occupancy oh i'm sorry i guess i'm talking about the wrong thing then yeah um but i
just want to let you know because that means that anything like as a as a business anything that in
the building that was not up to code would have to be brought up to code and done under a license
and permitted would have to be done under a licensed professional and permitted so i just
wanted to make you aware just uh there's been no plan have you been working with any
like licensed professional to kind of put together your layout plans for the shop yeah there was um
the electrician he he um he was like he is licensed electrician that's the guy
the electrician he um he was like he is licensed electrician that's the guy they uh recommended uh
get and he just didn't pull a permit so i just wanted to make you aware because you showed us a
hand-drawn plan that i'm assuming you sketched and you've given us sort of estimates for the square
footage that anything moving forward would require you to get a ceo and you'd have to hire a
professional and it could uncover some other things that you'd have to update in that space
