..Title Amending Chapter 12-2700 of The Philadelphia Code, entitled "Permit Parking Districts," by increasing the permit parking and renewal fees, within certain permit parking districts, for any vehicle in excess of one per household, and making certain technical changes, all under certain terms and conditions. ..Body WHEREAS, the number of vehicles in need of residential permit parking spaces in Permit Parking District 8 has far outstripped the available parking spaces; and WHEREAS, the number of residential homes being converted into multi-family dwelling units within Permit Parking District 8 has resulted in an increase in the number of vehicles attempting to obtain residential parking permits while the amount of on-street parking spaces remains the same; now therefore THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PHILADELPHIA HEREBY ORDAINS: Section 1. Chapter 12-2700 of The Philadelphia Code is hereby amended to read as follows: CHAPTER 12-2700. PERMIT PARKING DISTRICTS. * * * § 12-2705. Issuance of Resident Parking Permits. * * * (a) Subject to the provisions of subsections (b), (c), (d), and (e) of this Section, the Department of Licenses and Inspections shall issue to an applicant who has submitted a permit fee of thirty-five ($35.00) dollars and completed permit application one (1) resident parking permit for the vehicle described in the application[.], except that in Permit Parking District 8, the permit fee for each permit, in excess of one (1) for any one (1) household, shall be one hundred dollars ($100.00). * * * § 12-2706. Renewal of Resident Parking Permits. (a) Upon submission by the holder of a resident parking permit of a renewal fee of twenty (20) dollars and a completed renewal application on or before the expiration date of the holder's resident parking permit, the Department of Licenses and Inspections shall issue a new resident parking permit to the applicant[.], except that in Permit Parking District 8, the renewal fee for each permit, in excess of one (1) for any one (1) household, shall be one hundred dollars ($100.00). * * * Section 2.
