STATED MEETING - FINAL READING - BILL NO. 960367 Bill No. 980227 is being held. Council will now consider Bill No. 960367. And I understand there's an agreement on the language of the amendment. Councilman Mariano, would you like to offer that language? I'm assuming that all of the language that was previously read into the record is fine, with the exception of -
All the language is fine. We will strike the "60 day" part, and that everything will come in effect in 6 months, just take that "60-day" word out.
So this ordinance -so that Section 3 will read, "This ordinance shall be effective six months after enactment?"
So then this Section 3 will read, "This ordinance shall be effective 180 days after enactment."
Whatever comes first, right. STATED MEETING - FINAL READING - BILL NO. 960367
All those in favor of the amendment, let it be known by saying aye. All those opposed, say nay. The ayes have it, the amendment is adopted. And Bill No. 960367, as amended, will be placed on the second- and final-reading passage calendar for our next meeting. This concludes our consideration of the calendar, I believe. Maybe not. We actually considered this resolution at the time of the report of the Council of Rules Committee. Councilman Kenney was asked, and the resolution was adopted. This brings to us end of our consideration of the calendar, unless someone else has something else to offer. (No response.)

Mr. President, it looks very bad in terms of SEPTA and a strike in our City. I would like the record to reflect that the Council did request that the negotiations go on, so we've been consistent in our position that we wanted negotiations to go on. And also that we've also said that since the City owns the el stations, that we did not support management trying go run them due to the unsafe nature of the entire matter. Thank you.
Thank you very much. The Chair recognizes Councilman Nutter.
Thank you, Mr. President. A quick announcement to my colleagues. The Committee on Commerce and Economic Development has a hearing that was schedule for 1 o'clock on Bill 970485. The STATED MEETING - ADJOURNMENT hearing will start immediately after session, with a quorum. The witnesses for that bill are already in the Council chambers, so I'd just like to encourage us to try to start as quickly as possible. Thank you.
Thank you very much. The Chair recognizes Councilwoman Verna.
