Aye. The ayes are 15; the nays are zero. A majority of all members having voted in the affirmative, the bill passes. That completes our Calendar for today. Are there speeches on the part of the Minority? (No response.)
Are there speeches on the part of the Majority? The Chair recognizes Councilman Goode.
Thank you, Madam President. Very quickly. A short Yesterday, May 31st, the City Treasurer was to receive long-term strategic plans from all nine City depositories to resolve their lending disparities disclosed in studies conducted by the National Community Reinvestment Coalition. Wachovia, our largest depository, refused to respond to the City Treasurer's request. In a statement, which took the place of Wachovia's fair lending plan, Wachovia contends that since the City Treasurer does not have to certify compliance until July 1, that Wachovia will not submit a fair lending plan until City Council recesses. Wachovia did this yesterday after meeting with me on Tuesday to review their plan. Thank you.
You're welcome. Are there any other speeches on the part of the Majority? (No response.)
Seeing none, the Chair recognizes Councilwoman Tasco for a motion to adjourn.
Madam President, I move that Council stand adjourned until Thursday, June the 8th at 10:00 a.m. (Duly seconded.)
